12 Copycat Smoothie King Recipes

Smoothie King Recipes – Scrumptious smoothie recipes you can order from the Smoothie King menu or learn how to make at home.

Smoothie King was founded in 1973 by Steve Kuhnau, as a side business in his health food store. Juice King’s Mission Statement says it all, “To relentlessly influence and help more & more people achieve a healthier lifestyle.” According to its website, in 1989, Smoothie King was named the #1 smoothie franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine. Jamba Juice has now usurped Smoothie King’s dominance boasting approximately 800 retail locations compared to smoothie King’s 700. However, Smoothie King is significantly more popular in Asia with its new CEO, Wan Kim, pushing to dominate the rapidly growing region. Although founded as a small privately owned business, Smoothie King is now a corporate power house and recently secured $58 million in capital earmarked for growth from institutional investors.

The following smoothie recipes are either exactly the same as, or a close approximation of, the actual Smoothie King recipes used at their retail locations. For your convenience, we have also included a list of enhancers and supplements that mirror Smoothie King’s add-ons.

Our Favorite Smoothie King Recipe

Our favorite Smoothie King recipe is, without a doubt, the Caribbean Way. A refreshing sweet tropical smoothie that evokes images of gently swaying in a hammock next to an azure blue sea. Someone needs to turn this into a cocktail for our next trip to the islands!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place banana, strawberries, papaya nectar, turbinado sugar, and ice into a blender and blend until a smooth consistency is achieved.
  • Pour into a glass for immediate refreshment or place in the refrigerator to enjoy later.

Notes

  1. For ease of use, we recommend peeling and slicing a number of bananas, putting them in a freezer bag, and storing them in your freezer for quick access.
  2. If you don’t have frozen fruit, or simply prefer to use fresh fruit (we totally get that), we recommend adding 1/2 cup of ice to chill your smoothie and give it a pleasing icy texture.
